My first picture book is published!
My first picture book “Silky Corn Is Not Old” was published by KODANSHA in July 2025.
Silky Corn, a first-grader with a mustached face, goes on a big adventure!
A slightly silly, quirky, and heartwarming mustache story.
I still can’t believe my book was published by such a big Japanese publisher, KODANSHA.
It took me 1 year and a half to finish it. I gave everything I had to this book, so even if it doesn’t become a bestseller, I have no regrets — though of course, I hope it does.
School, work, relationships — life can be hard. Everyone is doing their best every single day.
If this picture book can offer a small moment of rest, if Silky Corn can share a little courage, joy, and a bit of mustache energy, nothing would make me happier.
The world is wider than we think.
Somewhere, there is a place that will accept you just as you are.
This book quietly carries that message as well.
I hope this story reaches many children.
